As you already know that Apple has sent out the invitations to its next media event yesterday, we are definitely drawing very close to the official announcement of the next generation Apple iPad. So, it is now final that the next media event is going to be held on March 7th and Apple has already sent out the invitations to the media outlets for this mega event by now.
So, until the official announcement, we don't have any solid information about the next iPad and we have to rely on the speculations, leaked components and accessories. First of all, we have to guess that what name Apple is going to use with the new iPad. As you might remember that we were expecting the release of iPhone 5 back in October last year but Apple surprised all of and introduced iPhone 4S instead. So, there is a high possibility that we might see an iPad 2S release next week instead of an iPad 3. But on the other hand, the displayed photographs have revealed that the device coming on launch day will be named as iPad 3.
As you can see in the images posted above, the Belkin cases are marked with the iPad 3 title clearly. These images came from a Chinese accessories dealer, who claims to have received the package from Hong Kong. Well, we cannot guarantee the legitimacy of the case but the person who was the first one to spot this case said that:
We saw a case with a level that says 'For iPad 3′ and it has been confirmed by the Belkin staff. The case is specially bought from Hong Kong. We tried to fit the iPad 2 in the case, and the result is that the iPad 2 is fully compatible with the case. Does this mean that the third generation has no changes in design?
So, after comparing this purported iPad 3 case with an iPad 2 case, we did not found any exciting results and we were unable to see any real physical different between the two when put side by side. Even the aperture for the rear camera is also identical with the iPad 2, so, there is high possibility that this is an iPad 2 case with a fake badge. As you might remember the leaked image of the rear shells of the new iPad which show a noticeable larger camera housing. As you can see in the image posted below, the inside of the rumored iPad 3 case has a serial number starting with iPad2, which itself gives the game up.
