Apple Inc. is soon going to spin the wheel and update the iPad line of products with iPad Air 3 and iPad Mini 4, and analysts and rumors mills aren’t stopping themselves from producing the information regarding the upcoming iPad series.
We have iPad Air 3 and iPad Mini 4 on the line this year, and let just start with the thinner and lighter Air first.
Apple iPad Air 3 Design:
Last year, Apple revamped the design and made the iPad even thinner by trimming it down to 6.1 mm. Apparently, any other attempt to decrease its thinness would be unnecessary. How much slim iPad we want, or how much they can squeeze the battery to have an even thinner iPad.
Apple is less likely to bring any design changes in the iPad Air 3 this time.
iPad Air 3 Specs:
As far as rumors are concerned about the iPad Air 3, then the tablet is going to have an upgrade over the iPad Air 2 A8X processor without a bump in the RAM. Apple is highly anticipated to introduce the powerful A9X processor along with the untouched 2GB of LDDR4. These rumors are very much justifiable and align perfectly with the Apple history of products.
If we talk about storage options then we will have the same variants, however, there have been some reports of Apple increasing the storage up to 256 GB. Faster LTE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are going to come in it as well.
Talking about the camera, iPad Air 3 is less likely to upgrade to a newer camera any time soon.
Also, we may see an update in the Retina display with improved resolution.
iPad Air 3 Colors:
Let’s talk about colors Apple may provide. On rumor list, we have Gold, Space Gray, Silver and also the Rose Gold variant. Also, the price point for the device is going to be in the same range as the previous one.
Let’s move to another section that is of the iPad Mini 4.
iPad Mini 4 Design:
Since the launch, the iPad Mini has not seen any significant update. We have seen better specs, TouchID but not for a single time Apple trimmed down its thickness. This year we have so many hopes from the Cupertino giant that it will re-design the iPad Mini 4 with improved specs.
iPad Mini 4 is highly anticipated to come with a thickness similar to that of an iPad Air 2. The 6.1 mm thick form factor will have the color options with no significant difference in the positioning of power and volume buttons.
iPad Mini 4 Specs:
When we say iPad Mini specs, the only thing running through our minds is processors and chips for the earlier iPads. However, things are changing and Apple is likely to introduce either the A9X or A9 processors in the iPad Mini 4 this time. Making it as powerful as the iPad Air 3, the Mini is apparently going to be a perfect choice for those who are looking for smaller yet a powerful form factor.
2GB of LDDR4 RAM, A9X processors, M9 motion coprocessors, faster LTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth are going to arrive on the iPad this year.
We are looking at a same laminated display in the iPad Air 2 as well.
However, the snappers are likely to remain same with 5MP iSight and 720p front facing FaceTime camera.
iPad Mini 4 color and price
We would like that on iPhone, the Watch and where not. Gold Rose color of the Watch is apparently getting more and more popularity then any other variant Apple has ever released. Tinch of copper and shades of gold, the variant is a perfect choice for the iPad Mini 4, and luckily we are probably getting that on the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus as well.
With good specs comes an increased price point. Rumor are a bit silent on this, however, we can expect a hike of nearly $75 in each of the iPad Mini 4 models this year.
