Apple is rumored to be ready to ship a brand-new iPad model affectionately known in the rumor mill as the iPad Pro with a spectacularly new 12.9-inch display.
At this point in my Apple and iOS Consumer Career I am not willing to rule anything out.
However, when word first came about the iPad mini I went to war against the notion of Apple putting out an iOS device to squeeze in between the iPhone and the iPad.
I even swore online never to get one. Well, I got an iPad mini Retina now as my only iPad (I owned every regular sized from the original iPad in 2010 thru the first iPad Air in 2013. I sold the iPad Air earlier on this year.)
Here is the report from AppleInsider:
Parts shipments for a 12.9-inch “iPad Pro” will likely begin in September, resulting in production of about 1 million units per month this year — but with new touchscreen technology and suppliers, according to a J.P. Morgan investor memo.
In order to improve input accuracy, the jumbo-sized iPad will likely use a “glass-film-film” (GFF) touch panel structure rather than the glass-film in the iPad Air and mini, J.P. Morgan’s analysts said, citing supply chain visits. That could be consistent with claims that the tablet will support a Bluetooth stylus, for which accuracy would be paramount.
