Well done to Mary Welford who has started a petition, in this climate of an increasingly aware and politicised Bude, to save Bude downs from further development. For some reason I can’t insert the link in my usual way using my iPad but here is the long link…

Mary hopes for 100 signatures but Bude can do better than that. She says:
A planning application has been submitted to Cornwall Council to create a further carpark on the beautiful downs. This will be for a further 65 cars despite the current carparks rarely, if ever, being full. This will affect the natural beauty of Bude.

I drive into Bude and lot and thus have to park. Very rarely am I unable to. Occasionally, I can’t park as near as I’d like, but I have legs and can use them. There are disabled parking spots for those who struggle. There is no need to encroach onto the downs which are part of Bude’s history and attractiveness, simply to provide parking in high season. In my opinion….yours is welcome.
