I like to bring the iPads into the classroom Friday afternoons to give the students an opportunity to explore, and share what they have discovered. I found it to be very beneficial not only to the students, but to myself as well. I have introduced the term collaboration to the students, and told them that I fully expect to learn great things from them this year. Most students seem to have an iPad at home these days, and they will often show me some of the apps they are using. Parents, I’ve asked them to talk to you about their favorite “free” apps, so that they can share this information with us at school.
The students are really involved with this activity,
and they love to share!
The lineup to share has been pretty long, I might have to add on some time to that portion.
I also take the opportunity from time to time to show them some of my favorites. I’ve already shown them Tellagami, and Prezi will be another one that they will be using. If you look at some of last year’s posts, you’ll see lots of examples of how we used Prezi (eg. bridge presentations).
